Introduction
Welcome to the Prenatal Nursing Care unit of the Maternity Series.
This resource consists of twelve learning modules and a simulation game ("game") related to the nursing assessment of a prenatal woman.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this unit, you should be able to:
- Analyze the normal variations that occur during the three trimesters of pregnancy and the associated terminology, and apply this knowledge.
- Identify abnormal variations and critical findings related to pregnancy.
- Perform a health assessment on the pregnant woman and fetus.
Game
When you are ready to test your comprehension, play the simulation game. It promotes the application of knowledge and skills related to the assessment of a prenatal woman in a prenatal clinic.
After completing the simulation game, if not attending an organized debrief, make sure you download and complete the self-debriefing questions to optimise your learning experience.
